  • We had someone compute our savings over the phone. I especially appreciated the educational materials related to where the actual energy or dollar loss was occurring by percentages. The pool covers saved us thousands this year and made our pool more comfortable for our patrons. It was money well spent because there is such high return on our investment. Thank you for your assistance. Keep up the good work!
  • I work with our local YMCA and I am trying to encourage them to become more energy efficient. I also work with some private pool owners. We've been limited in use since we utilize Mac a computer. We must go to other locations to use IBM compatible. Would like a version to work on Macintosh.
  • All ready had Pool Covers, Solar Heating Systems, Energy Efficient Motors, and Energy Efficient Heating Systems on pools. Are considering a new cogeneration plant and would like more information on this subject.
  • Software and program support is excellent. The RSPEC! materials and software have greatly increased my awareness of pool energy conservation.
  • Material helped us decide on solar heating for our pool and we are very satisfied with it.
  • Good - Software would run into a problem and not run. Would have to turn off and restart.
  • Don't have Microsoft Windows which is required to install RSPEC!.
  • I am a consulting engineer and I am also on the building and grounds committee for a local YMCA. We used the software for deciding on options to included in the new pool we are installing. I really liked the program and was hoping similar ones existed.
  • Need Mac version.
  • Good software. I teach Aquatic Facility Operator courses through the National Recreation and Park Association. If you send me copies of literature and program disks I would be happy to hand them out at my upcoming classes. Call me or email me (starguard@aol.com) if you want me to get the word out.
  • I could not adjust for not having any heating at all. Also, hours of operation you did not provide for splits, ie; four weeks during the summer our pool is open 8:00 - 11:00 for swim lessons and I could not input this data. The program analysis proved there were no payback for an unheated pool. Note that the program will be used to provide an evaluation to utility customers with pools.
  • Helpful program - but doesn't run effectively on high level computer.
  • The spa covers we purchased were disallowed by the County of Riverside Environmental Health.
  • It is very helpful and I appreciate your help very much. Thank you. We plan to purchase covers for the Torm High School pool which I am responsible for.
  • Have purchased a Building DDC controller.
  • Purchase of pool cover was not a direct result of RSPEC! materials or software.
  • 1) Needs to run on more generic PCs. I had to reconfigure my PC in order to accommodate the arbitrary demands of the software. 2) Should be more focused on INDOOR pools. RSPEC! did convince me of the importance of using a cover.
  • Already had a pool cover. Great effort by DOE.
  • In 1985 - 1986 we installed a comprehensive energy management and heat reclamation system for our sports complex. It does the following: 1) Waste heat from ice rinks is used to space heat rink areas, tennis courts and all care areas during the winter months. 2) Waste heat from rinks heats pool water during summer - maintains 80 - 82 degrees 3) Off peak hours - build ice in thermal Ice Storage unit (825 ton/hr) for chill water air conditioning of complex during summers. 4) Waste heat from ice heats domestic hot water heaters. 5) Facility Automation System runs complete package A) Load limiting for demand control B) Temperature and time limits on equipment
