Outlook 2010 Email Setup
The information that you will need
is:
- Email Address:
- Account Username:
- Account Password:
- POP3 Incoming Mail
Server:
(mail.yourdomain.xxx)
- SMTP Outgoing Mail
Server:
(mail.yourdomain.xxx)
Other Settings
- Outgoing Mail Server
Requires Password Authentication
(needs a password to
send)
- Change outgoing SMTP
server port from 25 to 366
(some ISPs block port
25)
Setup Directions
- Open Outlook and go to File/ Info / Click on Account Settings / New
- Select Email Account / Next
- Select Manually configure server settings
- Select Internet Email / Next
- Under User Information: Fill in your full name for Your Name and fill in
your new E-mail Address
- Under Account Type: Select POP3 / Fill in Incoming Mail Server &
Outgoing mail server (SMTP) addresses sent to you. They are the same. They
are just mail.yourdomain.com.
- Under Logon Information: Fill in User Name and Password provided to you and check remember password
- Under Deliver new message to: select Existing Outlook Data File / Click
Browse and select current Outlook Data File (usually Outlook.pst)
- Click on More Settings
- Under General: Type whatever you want to use to let you know what
account this is
- Under Outgoing Server: Check box: My outgoing server (SMTP) requires
authentication and select: Use same settings as my incoming mail server
- Under Connection: Don't change anything
- Under Advanced: Leave Incoming server (POP3) at port 110. Change
Outgoing server (SMTP) from port 25 to port 366. (We do this to get around
ISPs that block port 25). Check box: Leave a copy of messages on server,
set it to 5 days and check: Remove from server when deleted from "Deleted
Items"
- Click on Ok
- Click Next
- Click Finish
